Colorful Guizhou. Buyi Minority.

Guizhou province in China is truly enriched historical and cultural region which is a hidden gem from the majority of foreign tourists.
To get the fullest sense of local Chinese culture and traditions I highly recommend you to discover local ethnic minority groups by visiting a rural area of the Guizhou Province such as Gao Dang Village.

This place is inhabited by the second largest minority group called Buyi. I was so impressed with the colorful and gorgeous culture of the Buyi minority. Of course, as a big ethnic group they have traditional dances which involve Tymbal Dance, Weaving Dance and a special Lion Dance which I was able to observe. Talking about music, they have own traditional musical instruments like suona, bamboo flageolet, wood leaf, bamboo flute and so on. Be sure not to miss the evening performance in the village.

Local people are very friendly and photogenic here which makes this place a paradise for travel photographers from all around the world. On the other hand, it's still a hidden spot from the majority of foreign tourists.
